Are furniture castors suitable for my floor?

Yes, provided you choose the correct version. For hard floors like laminate, parquet, or tiles, soft rubber or TPR wheels are ideal. They protect the floor and leave no marks. For carpet or soft floors, plastic wheels are often sufficient.

If you have a delicate floor, such as high-gloss parquet or natural stone, opt for wheels with a soft tread and a wider wheel width to distribute the pressure better. This way, you'll keep the floor looking good longer and prevent damage.

How to mount a furniture castor?

Installation is straightforward and depends on the type of wheel:

  • Plate Mounting: screw in with a mounting plate
  • Pin Mounting: insert into a suitable socket or holder
  • Bolt Mounting: secure with a bolt for extra strength

The mounting method you need depends on the furniture and application. For chairs and light furniture, pin mounting is often chosen, while for heavier cabinets or work tables, a sturdy plate or bolt mounting is preferable.

What is the maximum load capacity of furniture castors?

The load capacity varies by type and size. Small wheels are suitable for light chairs or side tables, while larger variants can carry tens of kilograms per wheel. To determine the right load capacity, it's best to divide the total weight by 3.
